Carroll Manor Recreation Council

Locations: Every week the location varies.  Directions will be emailed before the meet.  We will meet as a team at the meet location. 

Age groups:  The meets are broken down by the following ages/distances (AGES AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2023).

• 6 Years & under = 1K = 0.62 miles (parents can run with their child unless the child is leading the race)
• 7-8 Years =2K = 1.24 miles
• 9-10 Years = 3K = 1.86 miles
• 11-12 Years = 3K = 1.86 miles
• 13-14 Years = 4K = 2.48 miles

If you finished running, you are encouraged to stay at the meet to cheer on your teammates, but not required.

Cost: There is a fee to compete; usually the cost is $10 per child.

Reward: Several meets give out medals for placing, ribbons for running etc… We will give out “shoe tokens” to every child that participates in a meet.

What to bring:  Snacks, drinks, weather appropriate clothing, & chairs.

What to wear: We provide a singlet that can be worn as the top, and if you choose, you can wear a T-shirt or long sleeve shirt under it, with black shorts, tights or sweats.

What to expect: A variety of courses; Approximately 30-60 kids per age group; all kids being at different skill level; EVERYONE IS WELCOME & ENCOURAGED TO COME!
