Carroll Manor Softball

WELCOME TO THE CARROLL MANOR SOFTBALL PAGE!

CMRC Softball offers teams in both the Fall and Spring Seasons.  The levels of instruction are 8U, 10U, 12U, and 15U.  There is no travel team but post-season play in the Spring is offered by the FCGSL (Frederick County Girls Softball League).  All practices and home games are played at the softball field at Carroll Manor Elementary School in Adamstown.  The only exception is the 15U team, who will play at Tuscarora High School when needed.  The league strives to help players reach their full potential in skills, mindset, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

In the Spring Season, U8 plays on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  U10 plays on Tuesdays and Fridays. U12 Plays on Mondays and Wednesdays. U15 plays on Thursdays and Sundays.

The Spring Season starts the week of April 5th and continues to the end of May.  Playoffs are the week of May 31st, and the All Star Game is Saturday, June 6, 2020.

Practices are generally held the same days of the week as game days, but any other additional practice days and times will be determined by the coaches.  Almost all practices will be held on the softball field at Carroll Manor Elementary School.

Frederick County Girls Softball League (FCGSL) uses a December 31, 2019 cut-off date.

Example - if you turn 13 on December 31, 2019 you would need to register for 15U.  If you turn 13 on January 1, 2020, you can still register for 12U.

8 & Under -  Age cut-off for 8 years old and under as of 12/31/19.
Birthdates: 1/1/2011 or later.
This is COACH PITCH instructional softball that focuses on fun and sportsmanship.  Players will learn the fundamentals of batting, fielding, running, and the rules.  Standings are not kept and there is no post-season tournament, but there is usually an all-star tournament.  Volunteers are especially needed at this level since the home team has to provide the umpire, which can be anyone over the age of 16.

Coach:  TBD (if interested, contact the softball commissioner).

10 & Under -  Age cut-off for 10 years old and under as of 12/31/19.
Birthdates: 1/1/2009 or later.
This is the first level for GIRLS TO PITCH, but is combined with coach pitch.  At this level, the fundamentals are continued at more advanced levels.  Umpires hired by FCGSL run the games and standings are kept, with a post-season tournament and all-star game.

Head Coach:  Suzanne Elder

12 & Under - Age cut-off for 12 years old and under as of 12/31/19.  Birthdates: 1/1/2007 or later.  This level is completely KID pitch and advance fundamentals of the game are stressed, with players learning to play fielding positions that best suit them.  Umpires hired by FCGSL run the games and standings are kept, with a post-season tournament and all-star game.

Head Coach:  Steven Kettner

15 & Under  - Age cut-off for 15 years old and under as of 12/31/19.
Birthdates: 1/1/2003 or later.
