T is for Training - LAX Drills for Home |
It's not just about working hard at practice!
The greatest factor in improving a player's game is how hard they work off the practice field. We're encouraging our young Warriors to pick up a stick and play at home by offering a new patch. Any player that consistently puts in 2 hours a week of training outside of practice (as confirmed by their parents) can earn our "T is for Training" patch.
So what counts as training? Really any time spent with a lacrosse stick playing catch, "wall ball", scooping ground balls, or simply cradling is productive. Below are links to some individual drills:
As important keeping a lax stick in your hand is... CMLAX also believes playing other sports is equally important to develop a feel for space and movement - particularly basketball, soccer and hockey.

Hood Mens LAX Trains CMLAX |

CMLAX would like to thank Coach Curt Foxx and the Hood College Mens Lacrosse team for training our U9 and U11 Boys teams! The kids had a awesome time! It was a great opportunity for the boys to learn from real college players what it takes to reach and excel at that level. One player commented "They shoot so hard! I'm glad I don't have to play goalie against them!" |

Mirant Donates $1000 to CMLAX |

CMLAX would like to thank Mirant for their tremendous generosity in helping kids play America's fastest growing sport! Thanks to the efforts of Doug Agnes.... Mirant Corporation has donated $1000 to Carroll Manor Lacrosse! The donation will be used to 1) fund a lacrosse "scholarships" for players whose families are facing financial difficulties, 2) establish an equipment rental program to ease the upfront expense for players just getting started with the game, and 3) buy training equipment for our Kindergarten / 1st Grade Clinic. |
